A New Political Party for Greece

AURIO is now public.

We are a new Greek political party built on evidence, truth, and community action. Today we are publishing our full programme: twelve policy papers, a national manifesto, a budget mapping document that shows where every euro comes from, and an Evros regional programme.

What we believe

Greece does not have a problem of solutions. It has a problem of culture. The corruption that defined Greek politics for decades was not an accident. It was the product of a system that rewarded connections over competence, consumption over creation, escape over commitment.

Change the culture first. The policy follows. AURIO is building a Greek version of civic culture: one that values craft, rewards building, and treats openness to the world as a source of strength.

What we propose

Twelve pillars of evidence based policy:

1. Food Sovereignty. Seed banks, agroecology and public procurement that buys from short supply chain cooperatives, not commodity exporters.
2. Community Energy. Greek communities host the wind. They do not own it. We turn the fee into ownership.
3. Local Economy. Greek regions produce the surplus. Athens captures the spend. We rebuild the local economy on cooperative ownership and anchor procurement.
4. Direct Democracy. Citizens’ assemblies, participatory budgeting and open governance. Real decisions over real budgets, not consultation.
5. Education as Liberation. Replace the banking model of education with one that produces builders, not exports.
6. Border Region Justice. When a region provides Europe with a border, an energy gateway and a military platform, it receives proportionate investment.
7. Culture as Infrastructure. Fund cultural programming as economic infrastructure, not charity.
8. European Sovereignty. International law, principled consistency, no silence.
9. European Democracy. A parliament that legislates, not advises. CAP reform. Direct regional access to EU funds.
10. Gender Parity and Anti-Racism. Zebra lists, legislated parity, intercontinental cooperation.
11. Healthcare as a Commons. Healthcare is a constitutional right. The fakelaki says otherwise. We rebuild the clinical commons from the village practice up.
12. Social Security and Dignity. Minimum pension above the poverty line. End precarious work. Rebuild the safety net.

What we need

200 signatures to register as a political party under Greek law. Every signature is an act of belief that Greece can change.
